More Rigorous Options (MRO) and Resource Allocation Review (RAR) processes are at the point in each of their development where our team and WestEd seek additional participation beyond the core team members. Anyone from the LEAs and other NDE teammates whose perspectives can enhance these programs are welcome to let Jeff Hoover know of your interest in participating in the MRO’s once-a-month meetings (last Wednesday of each month from 2:30 - 4:30 pm) and/or the RAR biweekly meeting (Thursdays, from 9:30 – 10:30 am, with the next meeting slated for 12.1.22), let me know and I will ensure the applicable WestEd point of contact adds you to the team and he will forward you the applicable meeting links. In a nutshell, the MRO team is identifying the resources and processes Comprehensive Support and Intervention (CSI) schools that are in their fourth year with that designation may need if they are designated as CSI/MRO schools next school year. MROs are required by the ESSA. Additionally, the ESSA requires CSI and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) schools to identify resource inequities that need to be addressed through their School Performance Plan (SPP). In Nevada, NDE includes the need to address resource (e.g. fiscal, teacher assignments, time, etc.) inequities in Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) Schools’ SPPs too. These resource inequities pertain to the following student subgroups as identified starting on page 5 of the SPP Roadmap:
English Learners
Foster/Homeless
Free and Reduced Lunch
Migrant
Racial/Ethnic Groups
Students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Here is the link to an overview pertaining to the School Transformation Series, Component 2--another initiative that WestEd is providing on behalf of NDE. Component 2 (CSI/TSI/ATSI School Site Leadership Network) is geared at CSI, TSI, TSI/ATSI schools to help them with their continuous planning process and doing so through cohorts of these schools starting next semester. Next month, WestEd offers half-hour blocks of office hour time to provide information on a school-by-school basis of what this networking opportunity will entail. Interested school personnel can sign up here to meet with WestEd next month. Lastly, interested personnel can contact Corey Donahue of WestEd at the following email address for additional information: corey.donahue@wested.org
Jeff, please send me information on both the MRO and the RAR meetings. I will attend. Thank you! Apryl
