The National Council of History Education (NCHE) is providing districts opportunities to enhance the capacity of their teachers through a grant called “The Rural Experience in America: Community Civics Through Historical Inquiry”. This experience is available to teachers in grades K-12. Attendees will learn the history of various rural communities and its impact on the shaping of rural America through Historical Inquiry, Service Learning, Place-Based Education, Public History and its impact on shaping the history of various rural communities. The grant will provide attendees a reimbursement for travel and project funding.
