Thank you to all the LEAs that put in so much hard work to submit the different funding applications for FY24! We know it was a heavy lift, but your students will benefit directly from the fruits of your labor! NDE team members are currently working to evaluate your applications and either approve them (or work with you so that they can be approved) as quickly as possible.
As a reminder, many LEAs are on track for spend-down, but many still have a lot of spending left to do! Feel free to contact your EPP for an updated snapshot of your spend-down for federal programs. Federal entitlements do not "close out" at the end of the State fiscal year. Still, we are coming up on some deadlines: the last day to submit Funding Application Revisions is August 1st, with a final obligation date of September 30th and a final RFR date of October 21st. Any expenditure made before June 30th, 2023, must be included in your July RFR, or it will be a stale claim. Stale claims must go to the GFO (Governor's Finance Office), significantly delaying your reimbursement.
On June 1st, OSSS held a Federal Grants Management training, which included important information on carryover. Please reach out if you would like a training recording or a copy of the slide deck.
We wish you all a happy and safe summer. We encourage you to contact your EPPs as you plan for the upcoming school year. Unfortunately, the May Title I Office Hours were canceled to give you more time to work on your funding applications (especially since the Community of Practitioners was just the week before). We hope to see you at our June Office Hours on June 28th, at 9:00 am. Please sign up for invitations to these important events in this newsletter's "Office Hours" Section.
